Painting a plaster wall or plaster ceiling is one of the ways to beautify them. The surface of the internal walls of houses is usually made of plaster, this plaster itself does not have a beautiful and good appearance, and they usually use different materials and methods to cover it. One of the most common methods is painting plaster walls. For this reason, in this article, we intend to teach painting on plaster and tell you how many days after plastering it can be painted and how painting on wet plaster is done.
Painting the plaster wall
Most of the surfaces of the walls and ceilings in the interior of the buildings are made of plaster. Painting on plaster beautifies the decoration inside the building and also prevents plaster dust from spreading in the building space and protects plaster walls and ceilings from erosion.
To paint a plaster wall, you must first remove all the defects on the wall. If there is a crack in the surface of the wall or the wall is perforated, first fill the holes and holes with putty and fix the cracks, and then proceed to plaster painting. It is worth noting that the painting on the wall plaster that has already been painted is different from the wall painting that wants to be painted for the first time.

Painting on the wall plaster that has not previously colored
For simple wall plastering, plaster powder is mixed with water to obtain its mortar. The obtained plaster mortar is spread on the wall and ceiling and this mortar dries after losing its water. This dried plaster has a low resistance to water and humidity, and therefore it is not correct to use water-based colors directly on the plaster.
If oil paints are used with oil under the work, they have a good adhesion on the plaster wall, but they are not suitable for painting on plaster walls that have not been painted before. So, we can conclude that the best colors for plaster walls are water-based plastic and acrylic colors. But as we said, plaster's resistance to water is low. So what is the solution? To paint a plaster wall that has not been painted before, we must reduce the amount of water absorbed by the plaster so that the plaster is not damaged and the painting can be done easily. This work can be done with the help of working oils and paint primers. So, to paint the plaster wall, we first apply a layer of primer or oil on the plaster.
Painting the wall
You should apply the main color on the wall. In order to cover all the surfaces around the wall and parts such as cornices, windows, doors, etc., so that they don't get colored. Then start painting the plaster wall with the help of a roller and touch the corners with the help of a brush. The drying time of different colors is different. If you feel that it is not enough coverage after the paint dries, apply the next layer.
Painting on the wall plaster that previously colored
To paint a plaster wall that has already been painted, there is no need to remove the extra plaster from the wall and apply primer or oil. If there are no scratches, dents or holes on the surface of your wall, there is no need for plastering. But if the wall had a problem or the color was peeling, you should do plastering and sanding. The rest of the steps are similar to the steps above.
