Compressor types

Positive displacement compressors: In these compressors, energy is transferred to the fluid intermittently or periodically. The types of positive displacement compressors are: Reciprocating Rotary The compression power of these compressors is higher than the dynamic type. Of course, the flow rate of these compressors is much lower than the dynamic type. The driving force of the compressors can be an electric motor or a diesel engine depending on their power.

Screw compressor

Screw compressor is one type of industrial air pump that has many applications in various industries. The basic function of this device is that it works in two opposite directions using the rotational movement of two male and female threads. This movement increases the pressure and temperature and produces the required pressure of the device. This compressor is mostly used in large industries. Screw compressors have different types and in their design, less parts are used than other compressors.

How to operate the screw compressor

Compressors increase its pressure by compressing and reducing the volume of gas. In screw compressors, when the motor rotates, the rotors also rotate and their teeth engage. This spiral rotation in the chamber causes the gas to penetrate from the suction side or from the inlet and move towards compression. These chambers are connected to the suction opening and are connected to larger chambers through ports; Finally, the gas flow passes through the outlet. The way screw compressors work is that air (gas) is sucked inside and compressed along the length of the rotors by reducing the volume between the teeth of the male and female rotors. In fact, a screw compressor traps air between two rotors and reduces its volume by moving it inside the rotors. Decreasing the volume of air leads to its compression, which creates heat. If all the heat produced is retained in the compression chamber, this compression will be heat insulating.
