Hydraulic elevators are one of the most advanced and popular types of elevators that use oil pressure to provide vertical movement for the elevator cabin. Unlike normal elevators that use counterweights, hydraulic elevators use hydraulic jacks to move the cabin up and down.
How it works
In hydraulic elevators, the cabin moves under pressure by jacks that are inside the hydraulic cylinder. As the oil pressure inside the cylinder increases, the cabin moves up and when the pressure decreases, it returns to the bottom.
Advantages of hydraulic lift
- No need for an engine room at the top of the shaft: the engine is located at the bottom and reduces construction costs.
- Smooth movement, no vibration and low noise
- Ability to carry heavy loads: suitable for cargo, hospital and car elevators
- High safety: in case of power failure, the cabin is lowered and opens on the first floor.
- Low maintenance cost compared to elevators tensile
- ability to carry heavy loads, suitable for office, commercial and industrial buildings with the need to move heavy loads
- suitable for low-rise buildings; A suitable option for short buildings compared to tensile models
Hydraulic lifts in places like:
- Office buildings
- Commercial buildings
- Industrial buildings
- Villas and low-rise residential buildings
are used.
